Dial Global To Support Red Cross Haitian Relief

Program Personalities will promote text-giving campaign  on over 2,200 stations

Dial Global announced Wednesday afternoon that it is marshalling the reach of its 24-hour radio formats and high-profile personality dayparts in support of the Red Cross’s texting campaign for aid to earthquake victims in Haiti.

Beginning Wednesday night, radio personalities on Dial Global’s Formats and Shows will join together to urge listeners to text the word “Haiti” to 90999, which will automatically donate $10 to the Red Cross relief fund.  The messages will be heard on the company’s 1900 Format affiliates, plus 275 stations affiliated with live shows like Lia, Greg Kihn, Nudge, and Cooper Lawrence.

“Here’s an opportunity for us to use the power of Dial Global’s terrestrial footprint, combined with modern interactive technology, to do some vital good,” commented Kirk Stirland, President of Programming for Dial Global.  “Our personalities responded immediately to this crisis, and seized on the Red Cross text program.  We just organized it, to take advantage of our large reach.”
